Auch dieses Buch hat mir wieder wahnsinnig gut gefallen! Auch wenn ich die anderen Bücher alle auf Deutsch gelesen habe, war es trotzdem schönes das Buch jetzt schon auf Englisch lesen zu können. Der Schreibstil ist gleich und natürlich auch der Spannungsaufbau durch die unterschiedlichen Perspektiven und manchmal auch durch Zeitsprünge. Besonders gut hat mir der Plottwist am Ende gefallen, da es in eine ganz andere Richtung ging, als ich ursprünglich mal angedacht hatte. Ein mir persönlich wichtiges Kriterium bei Thrillern ist die realitätsnahe Schreibweise, also dass der Thriller auch wirklich so passieren könnte. Das ist bei diesem definitiv der Fall, da viele Themen des Lebens aufgegriffen und sehr gut umgesetzt werden. Diese Themen spielen in ihm eine große Rolle, was mich sehr gefreut hat, weil ich bisher noch keine Erwähnung des einen Themas in einer Geschichte gefunden habe. Alles in allem ein gut gelungener Thriller, der sich perfekt in die Reihe der Vorgänger einreiht!

I like to read thrillers, and not long ago, I came across another work by Claire Douglas. That’s when I got introduced to thrillers with a psychological twist. In this story, Claire Douglas shows her full potential. Her ability to deceive the reader is outstanding. I am still impressed by the twist at the start of part two. It came out of the blue but didn’t harm the flow of the story. I think it even heightened the pace. Always expecting the unexpected isn’t wrong here.
