Women Don't Owe You Pretty The Small Edition

An empowering and encouraging book! I' d say it' s a great beginners book to dive into feminism but also an enrichment if you already are familiar with feminism. Florence Given definitely knows how to express complex concepts in simple terms and gets to the point brilliantly.

I wanted to educate myself more on how to be a feminist and what is really important about it. This book was the first one on my reading list and i can really recommend it. It's very easy to understand and a good basic summary, but I'm sure there's a lot more to learn and i will definitely do so

I do see why some people may find Florence too direct but I love the way she describes things and speaks her mind. I really enjoyed the book :) Because of this book, I recognised a lot of shit, happening in this seciety and how it influenced me.

The book is incredible! The autor is openly talking about sexuality, homophobie and sexism. Even if you think that you have nothing of this in you, the autor is showing you the little drops of capitalism you grew up with. Yeah, it doesn't feel nice. I always say that this book is for every woman that wants to take her power back in this world full of men, but also men that realise how the capitalism is getting worse and make us ALL suffer - welcome! The book has SO much amazing througths and ideas, it makes you think about your privilage every day after reading it. Oh yes, privilage! I really liked the fact that the autor realises her own privilage by being a white, non-disable and thin cisgender woman and makes a clear point that even that she's being opressed as a woman, any black or fat woman has it worse than herself. "Woman don't owe you pretty" absolutely changed my way of thinking and I'm really greatful for that. So, if you want to learn more about sexuality, gender and privilage, READ THIS BOOK! P.S. the pictures in the book are amazing!!

Reading this book was just a lot of fun and I love to read it again and again. You learn a lot about yourself and how you can be better.
