The hours I spent reading this book, I lived for it. And when I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it. Synopsis: Brie hates the Fae and refuses to have anything to do with them, even if that means starving on the street. But when her sister is sold to the sadistic king of the Unseelie court to pay a debt, she'll do whatever it takes to get her back—including making a deal with the king himself to steal three magical relics from the Seelie court. Gaining unfettered access to the Seelie court is easier said than done. Brie's only choice is to pose as a potential bride for Prince Ronan, and she soon finds herself falling for him. Unwilling to let her heart distract her, she accepts help from a band of Unseelie misfits with their own secret agenda. As Brie spends time with their mysterious leader, Finn, she struggles to resist his seductive charm. Caught between two dangerous courts, Brie must decide who to trust with her loyalty. And with her heart. Cover: Usually when a book has two different covers in the US and in the UK I have a favourite. In this case I love both covers. Since I got the ARC from the British editor, I’m gonna go more into depth regarding the UK book cover. And let me tell you: It is stunning. Without spoiling too much of the plot, I think it is so cool that the cover has the most important items of the story. When you pick up the book you might not know that yet, but when you read the book and look at the cover it is such a awesome feeling to suddenly understand what the items on the cover are and how they are connected to the story. Writing Style: God, I loved Lexi Ryan’s writing style. I was hooked from page one and everyone around me knows how hard it was for me to put down this book. Since I also love romance novels I might give one of her other books a try. But I am especially looking forward to book two of the These Hollow Vows series. Characters: Brie was such a strong female lead. Her struggles to find out who she can trust are very well written and I doubted alongside with her through the whole book. It was heart-breaking in the most beautiful way to see how much she cared for her sister. And Sebastian, oh Sebastian. I don’t even know what to say without spoiling. But let me say this: He went from being one of my favourite characters to one that I truly did not like. But we had some good times along the way. And Finn? Well, let’s just say I may have found myself a new fae book boyfriend. And I can’t wait to read more about him in book number 2. Plot: Fae castles, fae parties and hot fae males? Yep, I am definitely here for this. Finn vs. Sebastian. Unseelie vs. Seelie. Good vs. Bad. But is everything really that easy? Which secrets are hidden behind pretty faces and stunning castles? The plot was simply amazing. I saw a few things coming, but that does not mean I loved them less. And the ending? Well that one actually took me by surprise. I mean, I kinda did want to throw my ebook reader against the wall because of the ending… But that’s only because I don’t have the next book yet and have to wait what feels like an eternity until I can finally find out what happens next. So was everything logic and totally understandable from the start? Nope. Was intrigue part of what kept me going? Definitely. Conclusion: This is an amazing book which I recommend to basically anyone. It has a strong female lead, who is a little blinded by her heart, but that doesn’t make her any less likeable. It has some handsome fae. A dark-haired, morally grey fae. And an incredible sisterly bond. So next time you’re standing in front of a bookshelf at your favourite bookshop make sure to pick up this book. Believe me, if you’re into fantasy Young Adult Books, you won’t regret it. "These Hollow Vows" ist meine allererste 5 Sterne Bewertung in meinem Lesejahr 2023 & das hat sich das Buch regelrecht verdient Von der Ersten bis zur letzten Seite bleibt das Buch ständig spannend, sodass man immer weiter lesen muss, um zu erfahren wie es weiter geht. Außerdem konnte ich mich auch sehr gut in die Protagonistin Abriella hinein versetzen, da ich auch alles für meine Geschwister tun würde, um diese zu retten bzw. zu beschützen. Nur Bries Männergeschmack lässt noch zu wünschen übrig Ich war an einer Stelle sooooo Fuchsteufelswild, der Kronprinz kann froh sein, dass er fiktional ist würde ich im Buch existieren, dann wäre ich bestimmt direkt im Kerker gelandet, weil ich den Prinzen attackiert hätte Und nach diesem Ende sogar erst recht Ich kann den 2. Teil wirklich kaum abwarten, denn ich muss erfahren wie es weiter geht

Nach Acotar/Crescent City haben mich wenige Bücher im Fantasy Bereich angesprochen. Dass dieses hier bisher unter meinem Radar war, kann ich gar nicht nachvollziehen. Spannend, schöne Weltbeschreibung! Der 2. Teil sollte auf jeden Fall zu Hause bereit liegen ;)

Wow. Einfach nur wow. Diese Geschichte ist märchenhaft, spannend, süß und schockierend gleichzeitig. Ich habe mich gleich von Beginn an in den wundervollen Worten verloren, habe mitgefiebert, bin verzweifelt. Ich wusste nie, was als nächstes kommt oder wie sich Brie entscheidet. Von Seite zu Seite wurden mehr Geheimnisse offenbart, die das ganze noch spannender gemacht haben. Die Charaktere haben aber alle noch so viel zu verbergen, dass ich sofort mit Band 2 weitermachen muss. Es war magisch, es war fantastisch, es war genial. Romantasy at its best.

I totally loved this book from the beginning to the end. It is definitley a mix between ACOTAR and Curel Prince. When you enjoyed those books you will definitly love this one, I promise.
