On Missions To The Zulus In Natal And Zululand: A Lecture (1865) is a book written by John William Colenso, a British missionary and bishop who lived and worked in South Africa during the 19th century. The book is a lecture that Colenso delivered in London in 1865, in which he describes his experiences as a missionary among the Zulu people in Natal and Zululand.Colenso recounts his journey to South Africa, his encounters with the Zulu people, and his efforts to establish a mission among them. He discusses the challenges he faced in trying to convert the Zulus to Christianity, including their resistance to Western ideas and their adherence to their own traditional beliefs and practices.Throughout the book, Colenso provides detailed descriptions of Zulu culture, customs, and traditions, as well as their language and religious beliefs. He also describes the political and social structures of the Zulu kingdom, including their system of governance and their relationships with neighboring tribes.Overall, On Missions To The Zulus In Natal And Zululand: A Lecture (1865) provides a fascinating insight into the life and work of a British missionary in South Africa during the 19th century, as well as the culture and traditions of the Zulu people. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
