Numbers don't lie von Vanclav Smil ist ein äusserst tolles Buch vollgestopft mit gut recherchierten Statistiken und verblüffenden Fakten. Sie werden die Welt wirklich besser verstehen. Da so viel Zahlen aufs Mal kommen ist es nicht möglich, sich alle Sachen merken zu können. Es ist sehr kopflastig aber dennoch unterhaltsam, dieses Buch zu lesen.
Unter anderem werden Sie erfahren, weshalb die Erfindungen aus den 1880ern ausschlaggebender für unsere hochentwickelte Welt waren als die letzten Jahrzehnte seit 1980.
