Jane and her tired companions seek only refuge from a thick, mysterious fog, but someone has darker plans for them. As Jane learns more about the past and grows to care about the many lives under the roof of the grand house, she's faced with a daunting dilemma. The past has already been written, but might they rewrite those events? And if they change the past, what will happen to their future? Will they remain trapped in the past forever, or worse, cease to exist at all? And yet even with those dangers, can she stand by and watch so many kind souls perish in the tragedy that is destined to come?
