Flirting with the Frenemy

** Spoiler alert. Please don't read this review, if you're planning on reading the book. ** Flirting with the Frenemy is book one in the Bro Code series. Now, where do I even start with this one. This book was all over the place.  Ellie gets dumped on Christmas Eve and decides to spend the night in her parents' basement. There she finds Wyatt, her older brother's best friend, who just got divorced and lost custody of his kid. For some reason they end up having sex on the floor. That is until Wyatt thinks it's a bad idea, Ellie runs away, get's in her car and crashes it.  Fast forward 6 months, where they both end up at Ellie's famous brother's house. She's there for her best friend's wedding, he to spend some time with his son. Somehow they end up fake dating, because her ex, the one that dumped her on Christmas Eve, happens to be the groom's brother.  Then there's pirates, a cussing parrot, conversations that are kind of hard to follow, we're introduced to a bunch of people that are irrelevant to the plot of the story. Ellie and Wyatt hate each other, they kiss, they hate each other some more, they kiss some more, more confusing dialogue, they notice that they actually love each other, they have sex. He accidentally starts a fire by burning a dish towel, she freaks out, is convinced that they can't be together, because it's dangerous and they will die. Basically she completely loses it. Fast forward one week where she suddenly shows up at his house, they talk, a bird shits on her head, they kiss, Happy End. Yeah, no, I don't think so.  Now, despite my rant, it wasn't all bad. There were some parts I actually enjoyed. Pretty much every scene involving Wyatt's adorable kid for example. So I can definitely see why other readers might enjoyed this book more than I did. There was just too much going on in too little of a time for me.  Since this was my first read by Pippa Grant and I still somewhat enjoyed it, I'm more than willing to try another one of her books.
