Although he was born into slavery and endured a permanent physical disability, Epictetus (ca. 50-ca. 130 AD) maintained that all people are free to control their lives and to live in harmony with nature. Some parts are hard to understand because of the archaic language, but the translator probably spent a lot time translating it and it's good so. Also some parts are not in the topic which the book is mainly about, which should be a 'life guide'.
