Die Gesichten von Maggie, Sloane und Lena sind sehr unterschiedlich aber haben mich sehr berührt.
Ich habe auch 'Animal' gelesen und man spürt, wie sehr Lisa Taddeo sich einsetzt, die Gefühle und Rollen von Frauen in der Gesellschaft ehrlich zu spiegeln, und wenn man selbst eine Frau ist, erkennt man sich in vielen Aspekten wieder.
Ich musste bei dem Buch mehrmals beschämt lachen und am Ende weinen, weil diese wahren Geschichten mich sehr berührt haben.

Ein sehr ehrlicher und teilweise auch etwas schockierender Blick auf das Leben der Frauen, welcher auf Berichten und Interviews basiert. Taddeo taucht tief in die emotionale und sexuelle Welt von Maggie, Lina und Sloane ein, enthüllt ihre Wünsche und intimen Details über einen Zeitraum von 8 Jahren. Die drei Geschichten sind unabhängig von einander und sind in vielerlei Hinsicht unterschiedlich. Die Frauen repräsentieren nur drei der mehr als 300 Millionen Menschen, die in den USA leben und doch sind einige Dinge universell anwendbar. Die Suche nach Akzeptanz und Anerkennung, sowie das Bedürfnis begehrt zu werden. Das Buch mag nicht für jeden etwas sein, aber es führt definitiv zu Diskussionen und die Sprache ist teilweise sehr poetisch.
