Riordan what have you done with my emotions!!

Milli aus Wien am 19.06.2018

Bewertungsnummer: 343467

Bewertet: Buch (Gebundene Ausgabe)

Okay first and foremost: ‘The Burning Maze’ is the best instalment in the Apollo-Series so far, maybe even one of the best books Rick Riordan has ever written. Where the other two books were really good, this one is just awesome, at least for me. Apollo finally grows emotionally! Like really, he has one of the best character developments I have read in long time, but he isn’t the only one! Meg didn’t annoy me as much either. And don’t get me started on how awesome it is to see Grower, Piper and Jason return. Still this book is not only one of the best; it’s also one of the darkest so far. I was so shaken by some parts that I had to stop reading. Still, the only real thing I have to say is: Read it!

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions! A big one! I’m not sure I have laughed and cried this much while reading just one book. This had everything, joy, pain, anger, heartbreak, sadness, fear… the list is endless. Once again, I have to emphasise that I love Apollo! He is so precious and this series about him is so special, I’m so in love with these books, it’s crazy. I thought I loved Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus, but this takes everything to a whole new level! It’s so much better, which I wouldn’t have thought possible. Most probably it is the way Apollo sees the world. He’s not the typical hero. In fact, he knows exactly that he isn’t a hero at all. Even if I have to say that he develops very much in the books. I couldn’t imagine him trying to sacrifice himself in the first book. His descriptions and also his memories make everything so interesting, it is always a challenge to put the book aside. As to the heartbreak… I still can’t find the right words for it. It was so good to meet old friends again. Grover, Piper, Coach Hedge, and of course Jason. Jason, whom I adored so much during the last series. It was a very wonderful book, which I will definitely read again in the future.
