dieses Buch ist alles, was ich gebraucht habe. morally grey characters (all of them are), Nahtoderfahrungen (auch viel Tod allgemein), friends to enemies (aka the my tears ricochet by taylor swift trope), ein süßer Hund (!!!!). wenn man X-Men mag, dann wird man hier einige Parallelen finden! Ist ein bisschen wie Deadpool, nur nicht so selbst-ironisch/etwas ernster. Das klingt jetzt, als wäre es uncool, aber nein, es ist trotzdem sehr unterhaltsam und einfach genial von Anfang an interessant und bis zum Ende spannend! (bin nichtmal so sci-fi/fantasy fan, bzw war es bisher nicht aber holy shit this shit is holy!)

Excellent Book!!! Loved the story, the story telling, every character and the plot. 5/5 stars. no notes. I'm super excited to start the second book of the series, and apparently there is even a third one in the making.

After reading Addie LaRue I thougt I knew what to expect from V.E. Schwab but Vicious caught me off guard and I loved it from start to finish! Found family, a fast paced mysterious plot and amazing characters that are morally dark grey, villains if we´re being honest, but you can´t help and root for them nonetheless. I can´t believe I missed out on this for so long!

Eines meiner Lieblings Bücher! Normalerweise lese ich so eine Art von Buch nicht, aber ich muss ehrlich sagen das es mich wirklich SEHR positiv überrascht hat. Wenn man dieses Buch liest ist man sofort in dieser Welt drin. Man kann sich in die Charaktere super hineinversetzen. Die schreib-art ist sehr angenehm zu lesen und es gibt keine Sekunde wo einem langweilig wird beim Lesen!

Victor is one of the main characters, who is on his way to revenge. Especially at the beginning are quite a lot of timeskips between two timelines, which let you long for the next part in the other timeline. The past events, which come to light, give a lot of sight behind the motives of the protagonists. Eli is in the present Victors rival and in the past his only and best friend, who kind of took away Victor's girlfriend. Eli has his own strong believes, which he seeks to accomplish in every possible way, no matter how cruel that might be. Nevertheless Victor is my favourite of the two, because he rescues a girl and truly cares for her. The idea of how they got their superpowers and the way they function is quite interesting as well.
