ENGLISH DESCRIPCION
Bird in Mouth and Other Stories is the best way to get to know the fascinating work of an author who, after the Man Booker Prize 2017 nomination, has become one of the great Hispanic literary voices to watch out for in the current international landscape.
This collection includes twenty previously published stories, and one published in Granta magazine. These stories, chosen by Schweblin, make up a selection of her best short prose to date, as well as an essential piece of contemporary Argentine literature.
Following the prestigious literary tradition that Raymond Carver and Flannery O'Connor paved, Schweblin masters the language extraordinarily, with a sobering and real prose that rests between reality and fantasy. Schweblin's stories, disturbing and disconcerting, pose questions that deeply capture readers.
