A personal favorite - not only a connection between history and imagination, but to my surprise a connection to the watchmaker novels (I didn't know at the time that it's thought of as the third book in the series).

She did it again: Natasha Pulley forced me to ride an emotional rollercoaster. She created a magical and fast paced adventure-mystery, wrapped it in elegant, no, beautiful writing and topped it off with the fact that the whole story is amazingly plotted. What more can I say? Just read all of her books.
