In dem Buch wird im ersten Kapitel beschrieben welche Materialien man braucht, das Design und Komposition, aber auch wie man das Stickmuster überträgt und in den Rahmen spannt. In den nächsten Kapiteln werden verschiedene Arten der Stickerei beschrieben (Crewelwork, canvaswork, white/blackwork, silkshading, bead and goldwork, etc.) . Hier werden nicht nur benötigte Materialien und Stiche behandelt sondern auch die Geschichte der Stickart. Außerdem ist das Buch schön und gut verständlich bebildert. Klare Kaufempfehlung für Anfänger, da man sich einen guten Überblick verschaffen und mit dem Buch lernen kann.
