This was such a refreshing and well written book. Every single character is so interesting and has completely and utterly fascinated me. I also loved the subtle romance between our main characters a lot. I HIGHLY recommend this books!

Habe es als Geschenk bekommen und nicht mehr aus der Hand legen können. Spannende Story mit einer Protagonistin, in die man sich gut hineinversetzen kann. Hinter jeder Ecke ein Hinweis und man rätselt gleich selber die ganze Zeit mit. Ebenso ein guter Schreibstil. Zurecht NYT #1 Bestsellerautorin!

Wenn so ein Satz schon auf der Rückseite eines Buches steht, muss man es einfach in die Hand nehmen! Wenn man dann auch noch auf Blut, Leichen und eine junge, selbstbewusste Frau im viktorianischen London stößt, die sich nicht von frei herumlaufenden Mördern, arroganten Schönlingen, die meinen, alles besser zu wissen, oder gar vom eigenen Vater unterkriegen lassen, dann sind Lesespannung und ein vorfreudiges Kribbeln in der Magengrube garantiert!

She is a forward-thinking, independent and strong woman that every girl can look up to, and a relatable and likeable protagonist. Something I very much appreciate is the way the author tried to stay as close to the actual historic events as possible, whilst also making the story her own. Unsurprisingly, she tells a dark and twisted tale, but also offers some light-hearted banter and a couple of really cute scenes. Furthermore, the book is full of unexpected twists and turns that keep surprising and shocking the reader until the very end. I whole-heartedly recommend this book to every teenager and adult who is interested in crime and/or historic fiction. If this book won't intrigue you, I don't know what will!
