This time we are off to Palastine with Peabody & co. . . . . In August 1910 Amelia and her husband, Emerson, are relaxing at home in Kent,when they are asked to join archaeologist Major George Morley on an expedition to Palestine, in search of legendary Ark of the Covenant. Emerson in his usual way, refuses to go. However a request from the War Office and Buckingham Palace persuades him to reconsider.The Germans are increasing their influence in Palestine and British intelligence insists that Morley is an agent of the Kaiser, sent to stir up trouble.
