Britt-Marie likes things to be in order. Simply because there's a way things are supposed to be done. A cutlery drawer should have a clear order of forks, knives, then spoons, and glasses should be on coasters.
When Britt-Marie walks out on her cheating husband and finds herself as a youth soccer trainer in a tiny town called Borg, she has to learn to adjust. She discovered that people do things very differently in Borg. But maybe she and the people of Borg can still learn to embrace each other despite their differences.
In his fourth novel, Frederik Backman once again explores the life of a socially inept character through their views on the world around them. The story-telling is very similar to "A Man called Ove", and as such Britt-Marie's life unfolds in a calm and slow fashion. Throughout the book, the reader gets to know not only Britt-Marie but also the people of Borg.
This is a funny and beautifully slow story of a small town and a woman who expresses her care and love for it in a very unique way.
