Puzzle and Memory

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

The Bourne Identity is written by Robert Ludlum, and this thrilling tale is the first part of the Jason Bourne series. An extremely adventurous story about a man who is on the search to find who he is. He doesn’t know his name or his work. He only knows for sure that someone wants him dead but not why, and what’s with the millions in a Swiss bank account he doesn’t know either? The more clues he discovers, the more Jason gets confused, he hasn’t much information to work with and more importantly no one could help him or who he can trust. As memories of his past are reaching the surface, with time everything makes sense, these pieces of information are, when put together, like a puzzle. Jason only needs to discover all the missing parts which is not an easy task, with the pursuer right at his heels and ready to do anything to stop him. Why do they put so much effort into finding him, he’s got no clue. Jason has only one way, finding the truth no matter where it will lead him. Normally I don’t read the book when there is already a film, I saw the movie a couple of years back and I thought why not give it a try to read the book. The blurb and book reviews I read sounded promising. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to have seen the film before reading the book, but in my opinion, there is no resemblance to the film. In some parts, it was difficult to keep on reading, some paragraphs were boring, especially the financial ones. It took me a while to read it, although I found the story interesting at the beginning, it never took up speed. I don’t intend to read any of the following books in this series, this one is very different to other books I have read from the same author. It has a great story, lots of potential and interesting characters. I recommend this book to everyone interested in a good story with a good end.
