This book is based on many years teaching and research experience of mine. The object of this book is to provide a compact exposition of the fundamental results on symmetric manifolds and Sasakian manifolds. This book is useful mainly for those who are totally unfamiliar with recurrent manifolds and Sasakian manifolds. The text starts with a chapter on Preliminaries discussing basic concepts and results which would be taken for general later in the subsequent chapters of this book. This is followed by the study of a symmetric Riemannian manifolds, pseudo symmetric Riemannian manifold, weakly symmetric Riemannian manifolds and generalized pseudo symmetric Riemannian manifolds, a special weakly symmetric Riemannian manifolds and special weakly Ricci symmetric Riemannian manifolds and a special weakly symmetric Sasakian manifold and special weakly Ricci symmetric Sasakian manifold.
