Exciting plots lead to an unexpected ending

With a book series, there is always the question if it’s necessary to have read all the proceeding volumes. In this case, I recommend it because, in this novel, the author writes about past events very thoroughly and a lot, which may cause trouble for readers who haven’t read any of the last books. All the others, give it a try. You will soon get quite fond of the main characters. There is a gripping plot, with side stories completing the full logical understanding, many twists and turns to keep the reader interested to the end. Although I am used to the authors writing style, I had problems immersing myself in the book. Some passages were so interesting that I thought maybe now it takes up the pace, only to be disappointed a few pages later. In my opinion, the book is too long and some parts too distracting to be kept on track of the story itself. Because I like the characters and the plot, I will read the next novel of the inspector Linley series too. There are still too many open questions, which I hope to find in the following volumes. Enjoyable for crime and thriller lovers who already know the characters around Linley to, all the others who want to give it a try and do not shy away from a challenge.
