This book changed my view on Alice in Wonderland and made me love the Queen of Hearts. Catherine Pinkerton is a young noble lady whose lifelong dream it is to open her own bakery. Even the King of Hearts is captured by her beauty and her pastries. Cath’s situation is complicated as her mother wishes nothing more than for her to become the Queen but she knows being a queen meant giving up her dream. But not only that her world turns upside down when she meets Jest - the King’s newly appointed court joker - and feels the pulls of attraction like she never felt before. ‘Heartless’ is a story of how Catherine came to be the Queen of Hearts and how she lost her own in the process.

Warum ist die rote Königin aus Alice im Wunderland so grausam geworden? Skurril, verrückt und so wie man es kennt und liebt. Die Liebesgeschichte war herzerreißend und brutal und irgendwie kann ich die rote Königin nach "Heartless" auch verstehen. Eine 100/10!!!!
