No Safe House A Richard and Judy Bestseller

What would a husband and father do, to keep their family safe? That’s a question Terry Archer has to find an answer to, once again. Shouldn’t your home be the safest place? Think again. What is there to say about no safe house? What I noticed right from the start is that it took me quite a while to get the hang of it. Something that strikes me as unusual for this author, is as I have read other novels by Linwood Barclay. It’s a definitely readable story, with the outcome quite obvious. Close to the end, the author tries to increase the suspense, with rather meager success. This novel is a follow-up to no time for goodbye. I would recommend anyone interested start with that one first. Because all the characters are somehow linked together and occurrences that happened then are mentioned in the second part, but not in detail. Hence, it might be an advantage to know what happened in no time for goodbye to obtain a more distinct picture of the whole connection. Somehow the blurb promises much greater suspense than you really get, it’s a little exaggerated. It hasn’t blown my socks off, but a nice pastime.
