4 paranormal novellas

S. Fischer am 17.04.2009

Bewertungsnummer: 600630

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

This anthology is basically one new story and three rewritten stories from the anthology 'Bewitched, bothered and bevampyred'. Some of the names were changed (because of a different publisher and other authors who invented these characters and their names), but it's very obvious that the basic idea is the same. All the stories are set in a very unusual American smalltown that is home to all kinds of paranormal creatures: werewolves, vampires, faeries, trolls, demons, witches, you name it... Here this town is named Mysteria (in the original anthology it was Brokenoggin Falls). All stories are humourous and often erotic to some degree, but everything has been toned down for a mainstream publisher and audience compared to 'Bweitched...'. It is still fun though, and personally I preferred this version of PC Cast's story to the rather nasty original. All in all, these stories are well-written and very entertaining. Susan Grant: Mortal in Mysteria (rewritten) When a demon starts to commit 'random acts of kindness', Satan himself takes away his powers, makes him mortal and banishes him to Mysteria - where he promptly meets and falls in love with Harmony Faithfull, the town's new minister. She falls in love with him too, but that makes her a target for the demons who try to make their former colleague's life a living hell... MaryJanice Davidson: Alone wolf (new story) Cole Jones was orphaned at a young age, which was even more terrible than usual because he was a werewolf who knew absolutely nothing about his people. When he finally comes to Mysteria to find out about his people, he not only finds other werewolves, but also falls in love with Charlene, who belongs to a completely different species... Gena Showalter: The witches of Mysteria and the dead who love them (rewritten) Genevieve, a young witch, has long been in love with Hunter, who has never treated her as more than a friend. What she doesn't know is that he had a premonition which showed that he would die if he ever loved her. Enter Genevieve's sister who gives her a love potion so she can finally seduce Hunter... P. C. Cast: Candy Cox and the big bad (were)wolf After 5 divorces Candy has sworn off men. But should that oath also count for the young werewolf she encounters in the woods and who has felt attracted to her for a long time?
