Wie schon bei den ersten beiden Bücher The Knitters Book of Wool und the Knitters Book of Yarn stellt dieses Buch eine wunderbare Kombination aus einem ausführlichen theoretischen und einem Anleitungsteil dar.
Im theoretischen Teil erklärt Clara umfassend was es für eine gute Socke braucht und beschäftigt sich mit Themen wie Elastizität und Beanspruchbarkeit und wie man diese durch bestimmte Maschen erzielen kann. Neben der ausführlichen Beschreibung des Garnaufbaus und verschiedener Faserarten widmet sie sich ebenfalls der Garnkonstruktion und der Effekte unterschiedlicher Zwirnung.
Im Anleitungsteil versammelt sich die crème de la crème der Strick-Designer. So präsentieren u. a. Cookie A., Anne Hanson, Cat Bordhi, Norah Gaughan, Sivia Harding, Nancy Bush, Ann Budd und Jared Flood 20 Sockenanleitungen, die für meinen Geschmack fast alle zum Nachstricken einladen.
Die Präsentation des Buches ist sehr wertig und die Bildpräsentation gefällt.
