If you have not read that book yet, this is your sign to go ahead and buy it. Throughout the novel Donna Tartt kept me on tip toes eager to find out what‘s going to happen next, what tragic plans the universe has got in store for Theo and in what way the little goldfinch is flutters briefly before landing - once again - in the same helpless spot. It‘s fascinating how Donna Tartt manages to alter the genre of the book within only a couple of chapters. I do have to admit that I liked the first half / three quarters more than the end, yet it is undeniably an amazing must-read novel.

ich habe die Geschichte geliebt und bin ganz in ihr aufgegangen. sie ist rührend und traurig und tragisch und komisch und einfach eine unglaublich gute Erzählung an die ich oft zurückdenke. insbesondere für Leser zu empfehlen, die sich für Kunst interessieren und vielleicht schon mal in New York waren
