Kathleen Paulson, facing with her first Minnesota winter, is feeling pretty settled in Mayville Heights. Maybe that’s due to the fact that, Owen and Hercules (the magical kitties) adopted the new, librarian as their human soon after her arrival. Retired schoolteacher Agatha Shepherd is found murdered in an ally and Ruby who found the body is arrested as circumstantial evidence points towards her as the culprit. Kath does not believe that her friend is the killer because Ruby loved Agatha who changed her life around as she was turning into a juvenile delinquent, by introducing her to new interests As she cannot bear to see her friend in trouble Kathleen begins to make a few enquiries. There are several suspects including friends who could be the killer as the amateur sleuth and her two feline companions investigate the homicide of a highly regarded former teacher. With the help of her feline pals, she uncovers contrary evidence that points to the real culprit. And the trio risks their lives to insure the real killer is placed in jail. …
