In the second book in this series, Charlie Harris has been hired to inventory a book collection by James Delacorte, said to be an old eccentric.After suffering through afternoon tea with the rest of the Delacorte family, Charlie decides to get on with the job and have little to do with this family as possible.
Charley's son has turned up unexpectedly bringing his small but nice dog with him but not really explaining why.
One day, after lunch, Charley returns to find James Delacorte dead in the library.This time, with the grunging agreement of the police department, Charlie starts to look into the death of James Delacorte and the theft of some rare books from the victim's library.
A pleasant read with a stumbled upon answer to this murder mystery.
