There is no hope for an evil man.

Frank Schlösser aus Hürth am 10.05.2025

Bewertungsnummer: 2487414

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

This novel relaxes me, even though the subject matter is serious. A racist member of the Ku Klux Klan has been sentenced to death after a bomb attack on a Jewish law office that killed two people. His grandson, a lawyer, takes on the case of his grandfather, who has been sentenced to death. He has 28 days to get his grandfather off death row. The prosecution believes he has an accomplice, because the grandfather, who has been sentenced to death, has refused to name him. Overall, this is a good novel that plays with the suspense of whether the grandfather will really be executed in the gas chamber. In the end, the novel is one where I understand why John Grisham chose this ending.
