""Letters of Horatio Greenough to His Brother, Henry Greenough: With Biographical Sketches and Some Contemporary Correspondence"" is a collection of personal letters written by Horatio Greenough, an American sculptor and writer, to his brother Henry Greenough. The book, published in 1887, includes a biographical sketch of Horatio Greenough's life and work, as well as some correspondence from his contemporaries. The letters provide a glimpse into the personal life and thoughts of Horatio Greenough, who was known for his sculptures of historical figures and allegorical subjects. He discusses his artistic process, his travels in Europe, and his relationships with other artists and intellectuals of his time. The biographical sketch provides more detail on Greenough's life, including his upbringing in Boston, his education at Harvard, and his early artistic career. It also covers his later years, including his marriage and family life, and his involvement in various cultural and political movements.Overall, ""Letters of Horatio Greenough to His Brother, Henry Greenough"" offers a unique perspective on the life and work of one of America's most prominent sculptors, and provides valuable insight into the artistic and intellectual culture of the 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
