""History And Reminiscences Of The Philadelphia Almshouse And Philadelphia Hospital"" is a book written by David Hayes Agnew and published in 1890. The book provides a detailed account of the history of the Philadelphia Almshouse and Philadelphia Hospital, which were two of the most important institutions in the city during the 19th century.Agnew, who was a prominent physician and surgeon in Philadelphia, provides a comprehensive overview of the development of these institutions, from their origins in the 18th century to their expansion and modernization in the 19th century. He also offers a detailed description of the daily life of the patients and staff, as well as the medical treatments and procedures that were used at the time. The book is divided into several sections, each of which focuses on a different aspect of the history and operation of the institutions. These include the early history of the almshouse and hospital, the management and administration of the institutions, the medical treatments and procedures that were used, and the daily life of the patients and staff.Overall, ""History And Reminiscences Of The Philadelphia Almshouse And Philadelphia Hospital"" is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of healthcare and social welfare in the United States, as well as those interested in the history of Philadelphia specifically. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
