The English Romayne Life, 1582 is a book written by Anthony Munday in the year 1582. The book is a historical account of the life of English Roman Catholics during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. It describes the hardships and persecution faced by Catholics during this time, including the execution of many prominent figures such as Edmund Campion and Margaret Clitherow. Munday's writing is sympathetic towards the Catholic cause and portrays them as brave and loyal to their faith despite the dangers they faced. The book also includes a detailed account of the Jesuit mission to England, which sought to convert the English to Catholicism. Overall, The English Romayne Life, 1582 is an important historical document that sheds light on a difficult period in English history and provides insight into the lives of English Catholics during this time. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
