The Little Nurse of Cape Cod is a children's book written by Anna Bartlett Warner and first published in 1864. The story follows the life of a young girl named Nelly who lives in a small village on Cape Cod. Nelly is a kind and caring girl who loves to help others, especially those who are sick or in need of care. She dreams of becoming a nurse and helping people all over the world. One day, Nelly's dream comes true when she is given the opportunity to nurse a sick child. She takes care of the child with great care and attention, and her kindness and compassion help the child recover. Nelly's skills as a nurse are noticed by the local doctor, who invites her to work with him and learn more about nursing. As Nelly continues to care for patients in her village, she also learns about the importance of education and begins to attend school. She works hard and eventually becomes a skilled nurse, known throughout the village for her caring and compassionate nature. Throughout the book, Nelly's dedication to helping others is emphasized, and the importance of kindness and compassion is highlighted.
