King Estmere: Old English Ballad, For Chorus And Orchestra (1906) is a musical composition by the renowned British composer Gustav Holst. The piece is based on an old English ballad of the same name and is arranged for chorus and orchestra. The ballad tells the story of King Estmere and his lover, who he rescues from a foreign king. Holst's composition captures the dramatic and romantic elements of the ballad through the use of choral harmonies and orchestral textures. The piece is a beautiful example of Holst's skill as a composer and his ability to bring new life to traditional English folk songs. King Estmere: Old English Ballad, For Chorus And Orchestra (1906) is a must-listen for fans of classical music and those interested in the history of English folk music. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
