Earth has been conquered by "souls" who invade human bodies and minds to survive. Melanie refuses to leave her body to Wanda as she is determined to find her lover Jared. Now there live two creatures in one host. But what if Melanie and Wanda love two different men? There starts a complicated and risky "lovebox". "The Host" is a simply fantastic story with lots of emotions and passion. However, it is so much more. The characters are very likeable and you automatically start to think about identity and about how you would handle this delicate situation. Stephanie Meyer's style of writing is fluid and enjoyable and the story that has it all, action, romance, science-fiction and depth, is captivating and thrilling from the first to the last page. It is unique and I highly recommend it!

Stephenie Meyer kann's einfach! Wie bei Twilight lohnt es sich auch hier, das englische Original zu lesen. Sicher, der Einstieg ist...lang! Ich musste mich auch zwingen, "dran" zu bleiben - und wurde reich belohnt! Man kann das Phänomen "Meyer" nicht wirklich beschreiben. Sie wühlt auf, sie macht süchtig, sie schreibt soooooo schön! _______________________________ Stephenie Meyer is genious! As with Twilight, it is also worthwhile here to read the English original. Sure, the beginning is ... long! I had to force myself to stay "tuned" - and was richly rewarded! One can not describe the phenomenon of "Meyer". She digs in, it's addictive, she writes so beautifully!
