The book ""Sermons Delivered By Elias Hicks And Edward Hicks: In Friends Meetings, New York, In Fifth Month, 1825"" is a collection of sermons delivered by two prominent Quaker preachers, Elias Hicks and Edward Hicks. The sermons were delivered in New York in May 1825, and they cover a wide range of topics related to Quakerism and Christianity.Elias Hicks was a controversial figure in the Quaker community, known for his unorthodox views on theology and his opposition to slavery. His sermons in this book reflect his unconventional approach to religion, with a focus on the inner spiritual experience rather than adherence to dogma or tradition.Edward Hicks, on the other hand, was a more traditional Quaker preacher, known for his paintings of peaceful scenes and his emphasis on simplicity and humility. His sermons in this book reflect these values, with a focus on the importance of living a simple and virtuous life. The sermons in this book are written in a straightforward and accessible style, making them easy to understand for readers of all backgrounds. They offer a unique perspective on Quakerism and Christianity in the early 19th century, and provide insights into the beliefs and practices of two influential Quaker preachers. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
