""Poems On Several Occasions: Written In The Manner Of Anacreon, With Other Poems, Letters And Translations"" is a collection of poetry by John Oldmixon, first published in 1696. The poems are written in the style of the ancient Greek poet Anacreon, known for his songs of love and wine. Along with these Anacreontic poems, the collection also includes other original poems, letters, and translations from Latin and Greek texts. The themes of the poems range from love and desire to politics and morality. The book is considered a significant work of English poetry from the late 17th century and provides insight into the literary traditions and tastes of the time. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
