Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Large Print edition

Harry is close to completing his education at Hogwarts, preparing to plan his future. Furthermore, he learns more about his destiny, prophesied long before he was born. Dumbledore takes him under his wing because of issues that need to be solved. But in the end, all those lessons won’t save him from the truth, a truth he wouldn’t have imagined, not even in his dreams. J.K. Rowling has pulled it off again, gripping to the last page, although the end was sad and unexpected. But in my opinion, the ending still couldn’t have been written any differently. Sure, you can speculate and imagine a different conclusion, but for the course of the story so far, it’s fitting. This is a must-read for everyone fond of Harry Potter and everything around him, sometimes one has to nourish his inner child. I’m wondering how the story evolves further, as there are many differences between the movies and the books, as usually is. I see the films as complementary to the books, together they give a complete insight into the story.

Ich hab die ganzen Bücher immer nur auf deutsch gelesen und hab sie mir irgendwann vor kurzem geholt aber wow, einfach wow. Auf Englisch ist es viel besser, verglichen zum Film phänomenal! So viele Details und Informationen fehlen da was dieses Buch noch einmal aufgegriffen hat. Bester Tei von der Harry Potter Reihe. Da kommen Emotionen auf, glaubt man gar nicht.

This, by so far, is my absolute favourite out of all the Harry Potter books (and all the books I've ever read in my entire life)! Not only did Professor Slughorn become one of my most favourite teachers but we got to know much much more about my all time favourite character: Tom Riddle. His background at the orphanage, his time at Hogwarts, his plans and doings outside school, how and why he became the person he is now - Voldemort - his parents and ancestry (by far the most interesting arc! How could the films leave this out is a "riddle" to me), his visit of Hepzibah Smith and how he was able to charm her for his own gain and the time he visited Dumbledore after his graduation to ask for the DADA job... These memories alone are a pure masterpiece but there is much much more to mention why this book is absolutely brilliant in every single way possible. The first two chapters with Cornelius Fudge visiting the Muggle minister and then the one with Bellatrix and Narcissa visiting Snape at Spinner's End, without Harry's perspective. The ending was also nothing like the previous books, it left the reader in uncertainty and there was no "happy ending" this time. It was a drastic change to the previous Harry Potter books and once again J.K. Rowling left me speechless and amazed once again. Brilliant author, brilliant story, best book I've ever read in my life!

Ich habe nach vielen Jahren die Bücher alle noch mal gelesen, dieses jedoch zum ersten Mal. Es war so spannend bis zum Schluss, fantastisch.

"Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz" ist für mich definitiv der beste Teil der Saga. Harry, Ron und Hermine sind jetzt endich erwachsen (zumindest für Zauberermaßstäbe ;D) und erleben ihr 6. Schuljahr in Hogwarts mit allen Höhen und Tiefen: (un)glückliche Liebe, rasante Quidditchmatche und viele liebevoll gestaltete Handlungsstränge... Der sechsteTeil ist jener, in dem langsam Licht ins Dunkle kommt und an dem alle vorherigen Fäden beginnen,sich zusammen zu fügen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk liegt hierbei auf der Geschichte von Lord Voldemort und den sich wandelnden Beziehungen zwischen den Hauptcharakteren. Das Buch ist wirklich nur zu empfehlen; insbesondere im englischen Original, da man hier zusätzlich zur wundervollen Story auch noch J.K. Rowlings zauberhaften Schreibstil genießen kann. Ein Buch, dass einfach nie alt wird - auch wenn seine ursprüngliche Zielgruppe inzwischen erwachsen ist ;)
