""Early Prose Romances"" is a collection of seven classic tales from medieval literature, edited and compiled by Henry Morley. The book includes the stories of Reynard The Fox, Friar Bacon, Robert The Devil, Guy Of Warwick, Virgilius, History Of Hamlet, and Friar Rush. Each story is a fascinating example of the early prose romance genre, which flourished during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. ""Reynard The Fox"" is a satirical fable about a wily fox who outwits his animal rivals, while ""Friar Bacon"" tells the story of a brilliant scholar who creates a powerful magical Brazen Head. ""Robert The Devil"" is a dark tale of a knight who sells his soul to the devil, while ""Guy Of Warwick"" is a heroic saga of a valiant knight who battles monsters and dragons. ""Virgilius"" is a fantastical story about a magician who creates a mechanical flying horse, while ""History Of Hamlet"" is an early version of the famous Shakespearean tragedy. Finally, ""Friar Rush"" is a humorous tale of a mischievous friar who plays pranks on his fellow monks. Overall, ""Early Prose Romances"" is a fascinating and entertaining collection of classic tales that provide an insight into the literary traditions of the medieval and Renaissance periods. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
