A collection of poems, Haiku, Senryu and Tanka written between 1996 and 2007. Johnny D was born in North Manchester, and after leaving the North in 1979 has travelled widely. For many years he lived in mainland Europe before returning recently to make his home again in England. He has been writing poetry since he was about fourteen, with many breaks where interest waned, the creative urge weakened, jobs intruded and a host of other excuses for avoiding putting pen to paper or finger to keyboard got in the way. Eventually he decided that the urge to write poems was not going to go away, and an old interest in Haiku returned to help things along. Not a prolific poet, it took Johnny D ten years of occasional effort and a lot of chucking stuff away before there was enough material from which to select the poems in this book. Now he can go back to being poetically lazy for another ten years.
