A Practical View Of The Present State Of Slavery In The West Indies: Or An Examination Of Mr. Stephen¿¿¿¿¿¿¿s Slavery Of The British West India Colonies (1826) is a book written by Alexander Barclay. It is a comprehensive examination of the state of slavery in the West Indies during the early 19th century. The book provides a critical analysis of the arguments made by Mr. Stephen in his book, Slavery of the British West India Colonies. Barclay argues that Stephen's portrayal of slavery in the West Indies is inaccurate and that the situation is much worse than Stephen suggests. The book also provides a detailed account of the conditions under which slaves were living and working in the West Indies, including their treatment, living conditions, and the impact of slavery on their families. It also discusses the economic and political implications of slavery in the region. Overall, A Practical View Of The Present State Of Slavery In The West Indies is an important historical document that provides valuable insight into the realities of slavery in the British West Indies during the early 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
