The Boston Red Sox have won their second World Chapionship in four years, and owner Louis Kenwood is thrilled...until he receives an extortion demand claiming the 2004 World Series was fixed. If it all goes public, the franchise will suffer irreparably and Louis will lose his legacy as "Lucky Louie." Only $50 million can keep this "secret" from the press and the Commissioner's office. The Red Sox turn to former Twin-Cities-cop- turned-private-eye Sam Skarda to find out if the story of the fix is true and who is behind the plot. When the situation turns deadly, Skarda, with the help of Kenwood's executive assistant Heather Canby, must piece together an international plot before lives are lost and scandal destroys the Red Sox Nation. Rick Shefchik lives in Stillwater, MN, with his wife and two children.
