Terre Napoleon: A History Of French Explorations And Projects In Australia is a comprehensive account of the French exploration and colonization of Australia. Written by Ernest Scott, an Australian historian, the book delves into the French explorers' attempts to establish a foothold in Australia during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The book covers the voyages of famous French explorers such as La P¿¿¿¿¿rouse, Baudin, and Freycinet, who mapped and explored large parts of the Australian coastline. It also delves into the French attempts to establish colonies in Australia, including the ill-fated settlement at Port Essington in the Northern Territory.Scott's writing provides a detailed account of the French explorers' interactions with the Indigenous peoples of Australia and their attempts to understand and document the flora and fauna of the continent. The book also sheds light on the political and economic motivations behind the French explorations and colonization efforts in Australia.Overall, Terre Napoleon: A History Of French Explorations And Projects In Australia is a fascinating read for anyone interested in the history of exploration and colonization in Australia, as well as the broader history of European exploration and colonization in the Pacific region. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
