Born in Lebanon in 1968, Wajdi Mouawad enjoys a quadruple career as an actor, writer, director and producer in Canada, his adopted home. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honours for his writing, including the Chevalier de l'Ordre National des Arts et des Lettres from the French government in 2002, in recognition of his lifetime artistic contribution. His plays include Willy Protagoras enfermé dans les toilettes, Alphonse, Littoral and Pacamambo. His play Wedding Day at the Cro-Magnons is published by Oberon in a translation by Shelley Tepperman.
