Inequalities of wealth and income have a significant impact for the achievement of economic, political and human development in developing counties. PHILIP NEL is Professor of Political Studies at the University of Otago, New Zealand, where he teaches Global Political Economy and the Ethics of International Relations. He is a co-editor of the International Studies Association journal Foreign Policy Analysis.
