This link is widely debated in scientific literature, which does not necessarily seem to inform public policy. The City of Hamburg established a Next Media Initiative, focusing on media and IT industry related innovation to nurture the future development of this industry cluster with the help of high-growth ventures. This master thesis explores the composition of Hamburg's entrepreneurial ecosystem, local government efforts to facilitate its development and the (dis)connect between municipal innovation policy and academic literature.
Autorenporträt
Moritz Philip Recke studied media technology (Dipl. Ing. 2009) at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. After 10 years of professional experience in the media industry, he resumed his academic career with entrepreneurship policy studies at UNSW Business School (2016) in Sydney, Australia, and in Next Media (M.A. 2016) at Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Since 2017 he is working on a research project in collaboration with University of West Scotland (UWS), focussing on entrepreneurial ecosystems, public policy agendas and sociotechnical imaginaries.
