Epistemologia est scientia philosophiae quae considerat natura scientiae etiam de perceptione. Quaestiones magnae in epistemologia sunt: Estne scientia certa possibile? Quomodo possunt homines opiniones confirmare et scientiam adipisci? La teoría del conocimiento o epistemología es un campo multidisciplinar de filosofía, que trata las preguntas, como conocimiento concluya, los conocimientos son posibles, conocimientos en las diversas condiciones es lo bien fundado y donde es evidente ese conocimiento realmente causa de conocimiento se ofrece. Epistemology (from Greek (episteme), meaning "knowledge, science", and (logos), meaning "study of") is the branch of philosophy concerned with the nature and scope (limitations) of knowledge. It addresses the questions: What is knowledge? How is knowledge acquired? How do we know what we know? Die Erkenntnistheorie oder Epistemologie ist ein fachübergreifendes Gebiet der Philosophie, welches sich mit Fragen der Art befasst, wie Wissen zustande kommt, welche Erkenntnisprozesse denkbar sind, wie begründet Wissen unter den verschiedenen Voraussetzungen ist, und woran man erkennt, dass Wissen tatsächlich aufgrund von Erkenntnis angeboten wird. Von Interesse ist hier vor allem, welche Art von Zweifel an welcher Art von Wissen grundsätzlich bestehen kann.
