Meghan has lived with chronic pain since she was 16 years old. She has also been diagnosed with autoimmune disorders and a traumatic brain injury which are the sources of her chronic pain. She has attended many chronic pain management and brain injury programs. It was in a program that she realized there is not a lot of literature on the child's prospective on adult illnesses. Meghan loves to incorporate social stories into her work with children. Since 2017, she has been unable to work in the traditional workforce and since has focused her energy into the mind-body connection, therapeutic writing, swimming and yoga. Meghan continues to live in Northern Ontario while traveling to her family's cottage, outside the community of Burk's Falls.
