Autorenporträt
Nancy Smith enjoyed her career as a middle school counselor, listening to intimate stories shared by her students. During her summer breaks, she made it a point to travel to different countries, experiencing other cultures, meeting new people, and listening to strangers' stories. Inspired by students and new friends alike, Nancy was motivated to write this children's book, We Are ABLE-lievable. This book teaches young readers that they are capable of conquering little tiny bumps in the road or great big obstacles. Resilience, formed from courage, compassion, and commitment, makes the characters even more than unbelievable-it makes them ABLE-lievable! Polina van Hulsen is a middle school student who loves to make art. When she is not doing homework or playing sports, you'll find her working hard on her art skills. Polina has enjoyed working on the book and the message it sends to readers. She skillfully transformed written words into drawings that place the reader directly into the story. Polina can't wait for more amazing art projects in the future.
