The main purpose of this research is to provide a clearer picture of vocabulary attrition among EFL adult Persian learners. This present study contributes to the other research whereby this study examines the effects of production vs. reception as well as the context of the attrition rate of concrete and abstract nouns across different proficiency levels at two stages. In addition, unlike many EFL/ESL attrition studies, this study investigates EFL attrition among continuing students who are in contact with the language and non-continuing student who have exceeded the period of disuse. Finally, the researcher hopes that this research will assist teachers to develop professionally through learning and consider various methods to cater for the needs of their students.

The author holds a PhD in TESL from University Putra Malaysia. She has produced substantial amount of books, research papers, conferences presentation, teaching and training modules in the field of teaching techniques, second language attrition and acquisition, L2 writing skill, vocabulary strategies learning, at national & international levels.
