This book present phytogeography, population structure and conservation concerns of a typical endemic threatened species of tropical deciduous forests of Eastern Ghats of India- Croton scabiosus Bedd. (Euphorbiaceae). From its discovery in 1872 to till date, this book provides a comprehensive picture on its distribution pattern, adaptability in rocky terrain, threats it facing in its habitat and current conservation status. This book provides precise literature survey on 'threatened plants'. This book also resolved the 'speculation' about the species distribution. It provides the methodology adopted for an intensive sampled inventory of its population and regeneration ability location-wise. Methodology and field observation regarding evaluation of the species current conservation status is provided. This book also includes in vitro propagation studies of the species covering seed germination to acclimatization of the plantlets and proposed conservation strategies for species.
